Facilitating Initiatives for Social Cohesion and Transformation (FLICT) is a programme implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of National Languages and Social Cohesion in Sri Lanka by GIZ Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project partner National Languages and Social Integration Unit of the Sri Lankan Ministry for Public Administration, Provincial Councils, Local Government and Democratic Governance. FLICT assists the government of Sri Lanka by supporting the development and implementation of a policy framework for social integration and inclusive citizen participation, among state and civil society actors.
FLICT’s vision is to contribute to the creation of a socially integrated, peaceful and pluralistic Sri Lankan society that celebrates diversity and encompasses the needs and rights of all people in the country. This includes promoting Inclusiveness, Unity in Diversity, Participation, Pro-action, Introspective, Harmony and Peace.
Since its inception in 2002 FLICT has worked with over 250 organizations, groups, associations, throughout the country. FLICT has continuously adapted its approach in-line with the changing national and local framework conditions.
FLICT is presently in its fourth phase, mandated until March 2017.
